Carlos Chacon Butterfly Lecture to be Held at Hampton Lake

Bluffton, S.C. - As part of its ongoing monthly lecture series, Hampton Lake will host Carlos Chacon, Natural History Manager of the Coastal Discovery Museum, Wednesday, August 12th at 11 a.m.
Chacon will give a presentation on the life cycle of butterflies and their habitats as well as discuss the new butterfly enclosure at the Coastal Discovery Museum, which he manages. He will bring a variety of butterfly specimens for guests to view. The lecture is free and open to the public and will be held in the Lakeview Room at Hampton Lake.
“These monthly lectures have become increasingly popular because they draw on the expertise of notable locals,” said Wade Bales, General Manager of Hampton Lake. “Carlos’s lecture is an excellent learning opportunity and a fun, interactive presentation for nature lovers of all ages.”

A native of Costa Rica, Chacon has managed many international as well as local nature expeditions. He studied tropical biology at the University of Costa Rica and received his Masters in Earth and Environmental Resources Management from the University of South Carolina in 2007. Chacon joined the Coastal Discovery Museum in 2005.
