Acclaimed Food Writer and Author Gives Lecture at Hampton Lake

Bluffton, S.C. – As part of its ongoing monthly lecture series, Hampton Lake will host Holly Herrick, Le Cordon Bleu-trained Chef and acclaimed food writer for a lecture and book signing featuring her second book “Charleston Chef’s Table: Extraordinary Recipes From the Heart of the Old South.” The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held Thursday, April 22nd at 11am in the Lakeview Room at Hampton Lake.  

“Ms. Herrick has had quite a prolific and diverse career and is a dynamic speaker to boot,” said Catherine Guscio, Membership Director of Hampton Lake.  “If you are familiar with Herrick’s work or have an interest in food, culinary arts and farmers’ markets, this lecture will appeal to you.”

Herrick resides in Charleston, SC where she worked for seven years as a features writer and restaurant critic for The Post & Courier.  She commenced a freelance career in the spring of 2006 and has written for numerous publications, including Low Country Living, Southern Living and Bon Appétit among others. 

Herrick considers “Charleston’s Chef’s Table” an epicurean love letter to the city she calls home. The book profiles over 60 of Charleston’s top restaurants, including recipes from each in which Herrick’s discerning eye and palate leads readers on a tour of the city. Herrick’s first book, “Southern Farmers Market Cookbook,” is a 9-state odyssey providing over 100 recipes and true strategies for successful and enjoyable farmers’ market shopping.
